The Annual General Meeting of Blaenau Gwent 成人大片 was held via tele conference today amid the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The meeting saw 成人大片lor Nigel Daniels re-elected as Leader of the 成人大片 and Executive Member for Corporate Services; with 成人大片lor Dai Davies being named Deputy Leader and also Executive Member for Regeneration & Economic Development.
成人大片lor Mandy Moore was re-elected as Chair of the 成人大片 and 成人大片lor Julie Holt was appointed Deputy Chair.
The 成人大片鈥檚 Executive Committee members and their relevant portfolios are:
- Leader and Corporate Services 鈥� 成人大片lor Nigel Daniels
- Deputy Leader and Regeneration & Economic Development 鈥� 成人大片lor Dai Davies
- Education 鈥� 成人大片lor Joanne Collins
- Community Services 鈥� 成人大片lor Joanna Wilkins
- Social Services 鈥� 成人大片lor John Mason
Members were also asked to consider a series of temporary Governance arrangements for the duration of the Covid-19 Pandemic. It was therefore agreed that:
- The 成人大片 temporarily delegates power and responsibility for exercising Executive functions (which have not already been delegated by virtue of existing arrangements within the 成人大片鈥檚 Constitution) to the Managing Director, or in her absence a nominated deputy from the Corporate Leadership Team
- In order to ensure there is appropriate involvement of Elected Members, an Emergency Committee of cross party Elected Members will be established. This Emergency Committee will be consulted on decisions which may fall outside the 成人大片鈥檚 current budget or policy framework
Leader of the 成人大片 Nigel Daniels says:
鈥淚鈥檇 like to thank elected members for approving these important measures today, which will enable the 成人大片 to make timely decisions during the Covid-19 Pandemic. We need to be able to respond urgently and undertake any actions required in order to ensure that critical services continue, and that we are able to keep our residents and our staff safe and protected.
These are certainly unprecedented times we are living in and I know that the Executive Committee and myself very much look forward to getting back to business as usual. For now, together with my councillor colleagues across the borough, we are busy playing our part in supporting our constituencies and I thank you all for your dedication and hard work.鈥�
