A Nantyglo man has admitted illegally dumping waste in the county borough after removing it from a paying customer鈥檚 property.
Lee Powell, of Waunheulog, pleaded guilty to three charges under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the 成人大片 was awarded 拢1,665 in costs. Powell was caught after correspondence discovered at the scene led to a person who had used him to remove waste from their home, which was later dumped at Golf Road, Nantyglo.
Powell ignored enquiries made by 成人大片 officers. The charges were then put before him at Cwmbran Magistrates Court, and he pleaded guilty to the unauthorised deposit of controlled waste, allowing the escape of waste from a vehicle and failing to produce documentation relating to the disposal of waste.
Investigations showed that Powell was advertising waste disposal services on social media.
Householders should always ensure they use legitimate waste carriers to dispose of their waste by checking that a person who removes waste from their home has a waste carrier licence, and where that carrier is taking their waste for disposal. Householders should make a record of the name of the individual or business taking their waste, the vehicle they are using including its registration index and keep a record of any payment made for the work. All this information would prove invaluable in assisting local authorities in their investigation work should any waste removed be subsequently found fly tipped.
