Opening hours for the proposed second HWRC approved by 成人大片

成人大片 has recently approved the opening hours for the proposed second Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Roseheyworth.

A special meeting of the 成人大片 was held on Thursday 19th December where 成人大片 approved Option two of the HWRC report:

This option proposes Roseheyworth and New Vale HWRCs both operating six days a week. If one site is closed the other site will be open providing the public with access to at least one site over a seven-day period.

成人大片lor Garth Collier, The 成人大片鈥檚 Deputy Leader, said:

鈥淭his is great news for the residents of Blaenau Gwent.  The new facility will provide the public with an alternative to the current site which is located in Ebbw Vale.  It supports the 成人大片鈥檚 priorities to increase rates and enable us to achieve national recycling targets.

鈥淟ocated in Roseheyworth, the purpose built new facility will provide residents with a modern and accessible facility to make it easier for them to recycle more of their household waste. The investment is part of our waste strategy and one of a number of long term measures the 成人大片 is undertaking to meet Welsh Government鈥檚 increasing recycling targets.

鈥淭he new site will feature a furniture re-use facility where residents can donate items that are in good condition and free from defect. As part of off-site improvements associated with the new development, a new traffic signal facility is to be provided at the A467 / Roseheyworth junction.鈥

Joanna Wilkins, Chair of Community Services Scrutiny Committee Said:

鈥淲e are pleased that the operational hours have been approved. Recycling is important to everyone.  The cost to the 成人大片 of not recycling is significant and completely avoidable helping us reduce unnecessary disposal costs. When people don鈥檛 recycle, we have to pay more than we need to get rid of the rubbish placed in black bins. Money which could have been spent delivering or improving services for the community, such as schools and social services.鈥

The existing HWRC facility is located on Waun-y-Pound Industrial Estate, Ebbw Vale:
